Below is a list of our workshops, fairs, programs and other events. Note that some require advance sign-up or ticket purchase; most do not. Feel free to contact our office at 312-2255 with any questions.

Career Fairs/Major Events

Human Services & Volunteer Career Fair
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 11-2pm, sidewalk outside Campus Center towards Library (rain location: 142 Campus Center)
If you are looking to get into the "helping" fields and make the world a better place, this Career Fair is for you!  We'll have about 30 organizations looking to fill full/part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Stop by and browse around for your new opportunity!

Fall Career & Internship Fair
Wednesday, October 14, 11-2pm, 142 Campus Center
Career Services and the Internship Office have teamed up to bring you 50 organizations that need to hire YOU for full/part-time jobs or internships. Many career fields are represented, so come one come all!!

SUNY Oswego 8th Annual Fall Education Job Fair
Friday October 23, 2009  11 am – 2 pm Sheldon Hall Lower Level Lounge.  Directions, parking and list of school districts attending and certifications sought.  A great opportunity to learn by meeting recruiters in a semi-formal employment program.  Moving to the job may be an option to explore. 

A Technology Recruitment Program will be help from 9 - 10:30 am on the same day in the same location.  Details (PDF).


Graduate and Professional School Fair
Wednesday, October 28, 11 am - 2 pm, Campus Center Swetman Gymnasium.  Meet with representatives from over 50 graduate school programs from through out the northeast.  Learn about graduate program opportunities, financial aid and admissions requirements.  Free beverages and door prizes too! This is the first of two workshops designed to help you determine if graduate school is the right move for you.  This workshop will focus on making a good decision about whether to continue your study at this point or not.

 

Creating Your Online Brand

Knowing that you should take down that picture of you with the (insert embarrassing noun here)  from your public facebook and myspace accounts is, like, so yesterday. We'll discuss how the formal rules of presenting yourself to an employer are changing - it is not just your resume any longer. We'll cover how to effectively use social media (Facebook, Linkedin, blogs, twitter, etc.) to purposely build a positive online presence that employers WILL find and expand a working network of professionals to not just find a job, but GET a job.
