Scholarships And Awards

This publication contains descriptions of more than 140 scholarships and awards available to students at Oswego State, as well as award amounts, application deadlines and criteria for consideration.

The number and variety of awards and scholarships available to Oswego students are most impressive and encompass every discipline and major field of study available on this campus.  Little did Edward Austin Sheldon realize that, when he founded Oswego in 1861, the campus would grow to more than 8,200 students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, School of Business, Division of Extended Learning and Division of Graduate Studies.  The commitment to excellence in education envisioned by Sheldon continues to the present day on this campus.  Oswego graduates, many of whom have been recipients of the scholarships and awards described here, are among the leaders in business, education, industry, and the helping of professions in not only New York state, but throughout the country.

The Oswego community credits the many benefactors (alumni, parents, children, friends, faculty, staff and businesses) whose interest in Oswego and its students has made these award opportunities available.

Please read carefully the scholarship and award descriptions, criteria for consideration and application deadlines.  The application form to be used, unless indicated otherwise, can be found on pages 17 and 18 of this publication.  To be considered for a scholarship or award, please submit all documentation and materials requested.  Those filing on-line must indicate the scholarship for which they are applying and include all the necessary documentation.

The 2009-2010 Scholarships and Awards listing will be available online soon.
