HEAD COACH BRIAN McGRANE

Oswego State head women's soccer coach Brian McGrane led the team to impressive achievements in his first season at the helm in 2007 and looks to help the team continue to grow in the 2008 campaign. McGrane came to Oswego State after serving as the head coach at Elmira College in 2006, McGrane also served as the Director of Intramurals at Elmira.

McGrane is a 2002 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he was a four-time First Team All-SUNYAC player and SUNYAC Player of the Year in 2001. He also earned All-American honors as a defender in his junior year, and was a four-time All-Region selection.

"This is a great opportunity to get back into the SUNY Athletic Conference," McGrane said. "Oswego State is a tremendous school and it has a great upside athletically. My hope is that the women's soccer program in a short amount of time can get right back up to where it should be, and that's to the top of the SUNYAC."

McGrane has also served as an assistant coach for men's soccer at Plattsburgh State and at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College.

His goals for the Laker program are to get the most out of his players by challenging them to work hard in a comfortable atmosphere.

"I want to instill a hard-working attitude and also make it enjoyable if I can," McGrane said. "It's tough to go through the day-in, day-out work if they're not enjoying it. We will take a serious approach, but also keep in mind that we'll enjoy doing what it takes to be successful."

ASSISTANT COACH MAUREEN KASPEREK

Kasperek completed her first season as assistant coach for the Lakers in 2007. She graduated from Oswego State in 2006 and finished her Oswego State career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 71 goals and 12 assists for 154 points. She was a four-time All-SUNYAC selection and earned All-Northeast Region honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
