2008 Meet Results

The Oswego State outdoor track and field teams competed in the 2008 season, with the Laker women's team setting six new school records, and senior Heidi Armstrong qualified and participated in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the javelin.

Armstrong finishes 13th at NCAA championships in javelin

Oswego State senior Heidi Armstrong finished 13th overall in the women’s javelin competition at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships on May 24 in Osh Kosh, Wis. Armstrong’s best effort in the javelin preliminaries was a throw of 38.15 meters.

Heidi Armstrong qualifies for NCAA championship meet in javelin

Oswego State senior Heidi Armstrong (Solvay/Solvay) of the Laker track and field team will represent Oswego State at this weekend’s NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Armstrong was among 17 qualifiers for the women’s javelin throw. The meet will begin Thursday and continue through Saturday. The javelin competition is scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Armstrong sets school record, betters NCAA standing

Oswego State senior Heidi Armstrong broke a school record that she already owned, and set a new personal best of 40.88 meters in the javelin. That was a personal best, Oswego State record, and improved her standing among NCAA championship meet qualifiers, where she is currently ranked 11th nationally.

Armstong, Felder win titles at NYS Championships

Seniors Heidi Armstrong and Shomari Felder placed first at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships over the weekend, as the meet was held at the University of Rochester.

Three Lakers are event champs at SUNYAC meet

Oswego State’s Shomari Felder won the men’s high jump at the SUNYAC Track and Field Championships on Friday in Cortland, and was joined as a conference champion during Saturday’s action by Laker women Megan Boggan and Heidi Armstrong.
