Perioli now all-time leader in steals and assists

Nick Perioli

Senior point guard Nick Perioli became the Oswego State men's basketball program's career leader in assists and steals this season.

He surpassed the previously-held marks in assists (429) held by Joe Jones '87 and steals (186) held by Jeff Williams '01.

Perioli has twice been named as SUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week this season on Jan. 14 and Jan. 28.

Oswego State basketball teams to host one-day clinic

The Oswego State Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs are offering a free basketball clinic for boys and girls in grade 3-12 on Sunday September 28th in Laker Hall from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm.

Cortland defeats Oswego State; Downing scores 38 in loss

The Oswego State men’s basketball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday night with an 90-80 loss to Cortland in an ECAC Upstate semifinal game in Brockport, N.Y. The Lakers finished the campaign with a 21-8 record.

Jabbi leads Lakers to ECAC Upstate Tournament win

Mahamoud Jabbi scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and blocked six shots as the Oswego State men’s basketball team defeated Cazenovia 85-69 in an ECAC Upstate Tournament game on Wednesday at Max Ziel Gymnasium in Oswego. With his six blocked shots, Jabbi now has 77 rejections for the season, and set the single-season Oswego State record in that category. He surpassed the 72 blocked shots recorded by current assistant coach Ahmad Mims in the 2005-06 season.

Three Lakers on All-SUNYAC teams

The Oswego State men’s basketball team saw three players recognized when the SUNY Athletic Conference announced its All-SUNYAC Men’s Basketball teams on Monday. Guards Nick Perioli and Tommy Downing were named to the Second Team while sophomore forward Mahamoud Jabbi was on the Third Team. That trio led Oswego State to a 12-4 conference record and a second-place finish in the SUNYAC tournament, losing to nationally-ranked Plattsburgh in the finals.

Oswego State hosts Cazenovia in ECAC game

The Oswego State men’s basketball team will compete in the 2008 ECAC Upstate Tournament as the second seed. The Lakers will host Cazenovia on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
