DR. BRUCE ALTSCHULER (Moderator)
Dr. Bruce Altschuler is a professor of political science at SUNY Oswego. He is the author or co-author of four books, including Keeping a Finger on the Public Pulse: Private Polling and Presidential Elections, LBJ and the Polls, and Running in Place: A Campaign Journal. Professor Altschuler's political commentary has been heard on radio stations around the world, including the British Broadcasting Corporation; Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; "Evening Edition" in Kingston, Jamaica; Singapore; Wisconsin Public Radio and Minnesota Public Radio; and Oswego's own WRVO-FM. He won a New York State Associated Press award for best local radio documentary. His recent scholarly articles include "Scheduling the Party Conventions," in Presidential Studies Quarterly (December 2006) and "Selecting Presidential Nominees by National Primary: An Idea Whose Time Has Come?" in The Forum (2008).

TIM FARNSWORTH '09
Tim Farnsworth is a senior political science and global studies major at Oswego. He served as chief of staff to 2007-08 Student Association President Josh Miller '08 and as a Student Association senator in 2006-07. He served as a moderator for a 2008 Quest panel presentation probing such topics as digital rights management, the economics of the music industry, legal aspects of downloading music, the morality of illegally sharing music and the Recording Industry Association of America's prosecution of students for file sharing. He moderated a recent panel with Professor Bruce Altschuler, with local government participation, aimed at the exploration of global warming from national, state and local perspectives. He also hosts his own political talk radio show on WNYO-FM, "Project Nation." Most recently, Tim received a grant from SUNY Oswego to attend the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

MARC HELLER '90
Marc Heller is currently the Washington correspondent for the Watertown Daily Times, the smallest newspaper in the country to maintain a full-time Washington bureau. As a student, Marc was active in WOCR-FM and served as editor-in-chief of the Oswegonian. He also received a master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1993. Previously, he worked as a reporter for the Palladium-Times from 1990 to 1992. He has received several awards from the New York State Associated Press.

DAN HILTON '99
Dan Hilton has served since March 2007 as the senior legislative assistant for Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas). He is a policy advisor for defense, foreign affairs, homeland security, energy, transportation, judiciary and science. He previously served as military legislative assistant to Congressman Walter Jones (R-N.C.) as well as on the staff of the House Armed Services Committee. He holds a master's degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College and is a graduate of Air Command and Staff College, by seminar. He is currently studying for his joint MA in Government/MBA at the Johns Hopkins University. Dan has returned to Oswego as an Alumnus-in-Residence and is currently a member of the Graduates Of the Last Decade Leadership Council and serves as a Class of 1999 Reunion Giving Co-chair.

Trudy Perkins '93
Trudy Perkins serves as communications director for Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.). She is active on the board of directors for the SEED School of Maryland, KIPP Ujima Village Academy, Charles Street Development Corporation, and the Baltimore School of the Arts. She is also a member of the University of Maryland Baltimore Community Outreach Council, the Greater Baltimore Committee Bridging the Gap Advisory Council, and the East Baltimore Development Economic Inclusion Board. In May, she was selected as one of "Maryland's Top 100 Women" by the Daily Record newspaper. She was also selected as a "Person of Influence" by Channel magazine. She has served Oswego on the Reunion Committee and the Reunion of Color Committee and has been a supporter of Oswego's Hubert B. Smith Diversity Scholarship and REACH Scholarship.
