To the Campus Community:
I am pleased to announce the new leadership of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts. Fritz Messere has agreed to serve as interim dean of the school until the permanent dean begins in July 2009. Julie Pretzat has agreed to serve as interim associate dean. Both bring great skills to their new positions. Their leadership will move the school forward in very positive ways. Please join me in congratulating both individuals.
For the remainder of this academic year, the CMA dean and associate dean will work from their own offices and from an office close to the College of Arts and Sciences in Culkin Hall. Support staff in Arts and Sciences will serve them. CMA students can be referred to David Bozak in Arts and Sciences during this transition semester. Over the summer, a new dean’s office will be remodeled (location yet to be chosen) and support staff will be hired, so that in fall 2008 all administrative activities for the School of Communication, Media and the Arts will be in one location.
