Re:          Adjunct Base and Extra Service Funding

I am pleased to announce that beginning with Fall semester 2008 the starting compensation for adjuncts will be $868 per credit or $2,604 for a 3-credit course.  All new and returning adjuncts who are below $2,604 will be compensated at the new level.  Adjuncts who are already beyond this level of compensation because of salary increases over time will receive only the negotiated increases already in progress.  Stipends in place for other work will be continued at current levels.

Extra service teaching by full-time faculty and staff will also be compensated at $868 per credit or $2,604 for a 3-credit course.

Please submit paperwork for the Fall semester with this amount.  Thank you.
