Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct
  1. All forms of dishonesty which harm an individual member(s) of the University, the integrity of the academic programs or educational objectives of the University, or a University activity or procedure whether by act or omission, including but not limited to:
    1. cheating, plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty;
    2. knowingly furnishing false information to the University;
    3. forgery or alteration or use of University documents with intent to defraud, or alteration of instruments of identification or use of altered instruments of identification with intent to defraud.
  2. Disruption or obstruction of teaching, research, computer/information systems, administration, disciplinary proceedings, or other University activities.
  3. Disruptive behavior, including but not limited to:
    1. harassment or creating a hostile environment through discrimination, intimidation, ridicule or insult toward any person;
    2. assault and/or battery or physical abuse;
    3. threats toward or intimidation of any person, or intentionally or recklessly causing harm or reasonable apprehension of harm;
    4. creation of a dangerous condition on University premises;
    5. conduct which inhibits the peace or safety of members of the University.
  4. Imposition of sexual contact upon, or physical exposure to, another individual(s) without consent.
  5. Any act, or creation of, or participation in the creation of any situation, which endangers mental or physical health of others or involves the consumption of alcohol or drugs for the purposes of initiation into or affiliation with any organization, group or club.
  6. Theft from or damage to University premises or property, or theft from or damage to property of a member of the University community, or theft of services or intellectual property such as computer programs, software files or documents, library books and materials, or possession or distribution of stolen property.
  7. Failure to comply with directions of University officials acting in the performance of duties.
  8. Violation of University policies, procedures and rules, including the provisions of this Code; those relating to entry and use of University facilities; use and possession of alcohol and other drugs; use and possession of firearms, explosives and weapons; solicitation and posting; or any other policies, procedures, and rules in effect at the time of such violation which are intended to govern student behavior.
  9. Violation of rules governing residence halls as described in the Room and Board Agreement and the "Rules Governing Residence Halls" section in the Student Handbook.
  10. Violation of Federal, state or local laws in a way that affects the University's educational purposes. Such violation may be established by a disciplinary hearing, independent of a criminal conviction.
