Applied Statistics Minor
Program Requirements

Mathematics

Proficiency tests in mathematics are available for purposes of placement and advisement. Students who will need calculus in their studies can take a test in basic algebraic skills to aid in placement.
Mathematics Proficiency Tests
A proficiency test which measures basic algebraic and trigonometric skills is available. Students desiring an indicator of probable success in calculus should take this test. Inquiries for more information should be directed to the Chair of the Department of Mathematics.

Applied Statistics Minor - Arts and Sciences21-23cr

A mathematics major who elects to minor in Applied Statistics can count no more than four courses in both programs.
A. Core Requirements15-17 cr
  • Mat 358 - Design and Analysis of Experiments
  • Mat 359 - Multivariate Analysis
  • One of the following three courses:
    • Mat 158 - Introduction to Statistics A
    • Mat 354 - Mathematical Statistics A
    • Psy 280 - Analysis of Psychological Data
  • One of the following two courses:
    • Mat 208 - Mathematical Applications for Business and Management
    • Mat 210 - Calculus I
  • One of the following two courses:
    • Mat 258 - Introduction to Statistics B
    • Mat 454 - Mathematical Statistics B
B. Electives6 cr
  • Two courses to be selected from the following:
  • and under advisement:
  • Mat 354 and Mat 454 may be used as electives when not included in the core.
C. Cognate Requirements0 cr
