Professor of Human Computer Interaction
The Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
program at SUNY Oswego (http://www.oswego.edu/hci) invites applicants for a
tenure-track position in Human Computer Interaction at the Assistant Professor
level. We prefer candidates with a Ph.D. but will consider outstanding
A.B.D. candidates. Responsibilities include:
teaching graduate level
introduction to HCI, HCI methods and graduate and undergraduate courses in the
candidates area of interest, supervising student projects, active involvement
in the development of the HCI program and an on-going HCI research
program. Primary criteria for the review of candidates will be evidence
of potential for teaching excellence, a quality research program, credentials
in Human Computer Interaction.

December 1, 2006 and will continue until the position is filled. Please submit
a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, and three letters of
recommendation; also include evidence of excellence in teaching (e.g., a
statement of teaching philosophy, peer/student ratings) and research (e.g., a

The HCI program is an interdisciplinary
program among the departments of Psychology, Computer Science, Graphic Design
and Information Science. The program offers an MA in HCI and a 5 year
BA/MA Psychology/HCI program and contributes to the Center for Communication
